Do you have Steampunk on the brain because of the upcoming episode of Green Lantern the Animated Series? Then please listen to the BIG PULL PODCAST where I talk about the cultural phenomenon of steampunk and how it worked it's way into GLTAS!
Absolutely loved listening to your comments on steampunk and "girl geeks."
Ironically, I actually had a digital artist teacher from Cal State Fullerton named Cliff Cramp who I believe claimed to work on one of the first "steampunk" based books that lead to the modern coined term.
I've been working on a steampunk based webcomic of my own so steampunk is a huge part of my own girl geekdom. It always makes me happy to see it incorporated into other shows/movies/comics.
Needless to say, I'm Geeking out over Saturday's episode. Some of my favorite Elsewords in DC were those which took our icons and put them in Victorian/Steampunk settings, such as Batman and Superman. I even recall reading an article on Kotaku that, once upon a time, shortly before Rocksteady began production on the Arkham series, a Steampunk Batman title had been planed. Some concept art even exists for it and it's pretty damn brilliant.
